Minimum Requirements
  • Effective Curtains (Tautliner) for protection against the weather
  • Effective load restraint straps with minimum:
    • rating of 2,000kg per strap
    • number of 1 per pallet space
Food Grade Standards

Trailers will be inspected for contaminates.  If contaminates are found on the trailer, the vehicle cannot be loaded.  Where a load has been cancelled, your vehicle must leave the site immediately to avoid contaminating the site.

 Blow out; Sweep out; Water wash out:

  • Untreated Bulk Grains
  • Untreated Fertilizers (eg. MAP/DAP/UREA)
  • Inert Mineral Material (Sand/Gravel, Lime/Gypsum, Salt)
  • Untreated Wood Chips
  • Remnants of prior grain load

No presence of:

  • Glass
  • Treated Bulk Grain (eg. Pickled Grains)
  • Treated Fertilizers (eg. Fungicide treated)
  • Coal or Coal Products, Mineral Clays
  • Treated Wood Products Medicated Stockfeeds
  • Compost
  • Animal Matter (Manure, Offal, Meat meal)
  • Urban / Household Waste
  • Asbestos or Other Toxic Materials
  • Metal Flakes / Metal Products
  • Sewage Sludge

When booking a time slot you will need to provide:

  • Manifest Number (TLI)
  • Your Name
  • Your Driver Licence Details
  • Registration Plate details for your truck and trailer(s)
  • Calculation of available payload

No Manifest Number and no Booking = No Access

Delay - Weather

There may be reduced loading/ delays due to extreme weather, including:

  • The wind speed is above what is deemed unsafe to loaders
  • There is excessive water on the pad due to high rainfall

If Extreme weather is forecast, loads for the day will be reduced by the Cheetham Salt supply chain administrator

Delay - Arrival Site - for your loading

Please call Site Dispatch Mobile 0448 700 082 or Dispatch 03 50781275, so we can make adjustments for you and other drivers.

Loading where a time slot has been missed will depend on site requirements and other bookings.

If delayed vehicle cannot be rebooked for the same day, the load allocated will reallocated to another vehicle or moved to an available time slot on the next day for the same vehicle.

We are unlikely to load vehicles arriving outside of Site nominated loading hours.

Delay - Receiving Site - for your delivery

Where you are likely not to be able to deliver at the nominated time window, you must advise Cheetham Salt, by calling the following people:

Moving onto Site

You must:

  • Follow instructions from Cheetham Salt employees
  • Not be abusive to Cheetham Salt employees or other people on or near the site
  • Adhere to site safety requirements:
    • Signage
    • Marked Areas
    • Policies
    • Procedures
  • Not have drugs or alcohol – in your possession or in your vehicle – or have them in your system
  • Not have children – with you or in your vehicle – or bring them onto the site
  • Not have glass containers – with you or in your vehicle – or bring them onto the site
  • Not have animals / domestic pets – with you or in your vehicle – or bring them onto the site

It is a condition of site entry that visitors, drivers and contractors may be asked to undertake a random drug and alcohol test. If are asked to undertake a random drug and alcohol test and you refuse, you must leave the site immediately.

Before Loading

The driver is to remain in the exclusion zones at all times during loading activities.

The driver is to advise the fork lift operator via verbal communication or hand signals that he wants to leave the exclusion zone.

The driver must use designated walk way when moving to or from the exclusion zone. 

Loading

The forklift operator has the authority for the loading operations.

If the driver ceases to be in the direct line of sight of the fork lift operator at any stage during the loading activity, the loading activity will stop and not start until a direct line of sight is re-established between the operator and driver.
